About Me
Hi, I’m Antonio Del Donno! I began my academic journey in theoretical physics, specializing in quantum field theory and beyond the Standard Model physics. Over time, I became increasingly fascinated by the mathematical foundations of these theories and, more broadly, by mathematical methods in physics. This interest led me to explore geometry and topology in greater depth. Driven by this passion, I pursued a master’s degree in pure mathematics, where I realized that my true path may lie in mathematical research. My second master’s thesis focused on noncommutative geometry, specifically on differential calculi for quantum principal bundles. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at Charles University in Prague, working on the noncommutative geometry of quantum flag manifolds. Alongside my research, I tutor engineering and chemistry students at the University of Bologna and teach mathematics, physics, and chemistry privately. Beyond academia, music has always been a fundamental part of my life; whether composing, improvising, or simply playing for enjoyment, I find music to be an essential creative outlet to balance the scientific part of my mind. I also enjoy photography, which provides me an excellent excuse to go outside for a walk when I need to. Download my CV.

Music
I'm a guitar player, a composer, a producer, and a mixing/mastering engineer.
My Projects
- I Botanici: We are a math/post-rock band with very broad influences ranging from pop music to jazz. We have three active records up-to-date. Our latest work is the self-titled record "I Botanici", released on December 2023. We count approximately 200 live shows across all Italy.
- Tiny Donuts: Instrumental electronic jazz music based on guitar improvisation, rhythmic/harmonic exploration, unpredictable changes. This is my solo project where I give freedom to all the ideas rushing in my mind. I have published 5 singles and right now I'm working on an EP.
Production Work
- Freelancer music producer and mixing/mastering engineer. During the past, I have worked as a producer, mixing, and mastering engineer for Garrincha edizioni musicali, a leading record label for independent music in Italy. My portfolio encompasses collaborations with several artists from the Italian music scene.
